Photo of the day: i915-based motherboard with AGP/PCI-E slots We are currently testing a really unique motherboard from ECS (EliteGroup) 915P-A.
This novelty has both AGP and PCI-Express 16x slots. As you know, i915/925 do not support AGP, so it´s impossible to implement fully-fledged AGP8x into them. Therefore the given variant was called AGP Express:
The company keeps silence about realization, but a certain bridge is rumoured to be onboard. We think the company decided to replace one PCI slot with an AGP one, having decreased its performance to PCI 33MHz. Our tests will show if it´s so. Still it´s good that for some time users will be able to use older graphics card with a newer PCI-E board. The company says that AGP Express and PCI-E cards can work simultaneously in this novelty.

Addition to our news regarding GeForce 6800 pipeline management Yesterday we wrote about a new feature of RivaTuner allowing to unlock GeForce 6800 disabled pipelines. Statistics were far from good at that moment, so no new versions were planned. However, as we expanded our beta testing this changed dramatically. Today about 70-80% of unlocked cards work fine without any artefacts. Therefore we decided to release RivaTuner 15.2 that is already at pre-release stage scheduled for release next week.
